Escambia County Primary Voters Overwhelmingly Choose Republican Party
In the June 1, 2010 primary, 68% of Escambia County voters chose a Republican ballot. This marks only the second time in history that Republican primary voters have outnumbered Democrat primary voters.
Jeff Peacock, chairman of the Escambia County Republican Party believes the Republican advantage in the primary is attributable to the changing political dynamic in Escambia County. "This year, the Alabama Republican Party, and locally, the Escambia County GOP offered an unparalleled slate of quality candidates for voters to choose from." Peacock said. "When you couple this with the dissatisfaction that most Alabama voters have with the current Democratic leadership in Montgomery and Washington, it's easy to see that Republican prospects in the November general election look very promising." Peacock continued.
Statewide, 60% of primary voters chose a Republican primary ballot. "This proves just how Republican Escambia County truly is. Alabama is obviously a red state and Escambia County is even more red than Alabama as a whole." Peacock concluded.

On January 5th, the Escambia County Republican Executive Committee elected Jeff Peacock as its chairman. Peacock expressed his gratitude, saying “I am honored and humbled to be elected to this position.” Peacock continued, “I look forward to working with fellow Republicans across Escambia County to build a strong and active political organization over the coming year. The 2010 elections present a tremendous opportunity for the Republican Party at all levels of government and we intend to take full advantage of this opportunity.”
The new chairman said party building efforts would include extensive volunteer recruitment and fundraising. Peacock remarked, “Our committee has quadrupled in size in just the last nine months. I see this momentum growing as we enter the election season.” Peacock attributes this growth to a growing unease with the liberal agenda being pursued by the Democratic Party.
At the same meeting, the Escambia County GOP elected Lloyd Albritton to the Alabama Republican State Executive Committee. Albritton joins Peacock and Republican Party Vice Chair Jackie Gay as Escambia County’s three members of the State Executive Committee.

Republican Greg Albritton won a sizable victory in Escambia County in the State Senate race held June 2nd. Greg received 58% of Escambia County's vote and claimed victory in 24 of 31 voting precincts! Congratulations to Greg for running an outstanding, POSITIVE campaign! And thanks to everyone who helped on Greg's campaign for their hard work and dedication.
